The finely engraved canellee case bears nearly all of its original gilding. The strike work is mounted on the backplate where there is a further bell in the base for the alarm. The glass top, back and side panels allow for viewing of the movement.

The white enamelled dial signed by Vrard employs Roman numerals, has a centre sweep seconds hand, and a large subsidiary dial for the alarm.

The movement strikes and repeats on a bell.
