Case

The 15½ inch mahogany case with stylised clover decoration to the base of the rectangular saltbox, with hinged door to the right-hand side allowing for regulation of the pendulum and pendulum locking. The turned moulded mahogany bezel with double line ebony and boxwood chevron stringing. Glazed, cast and turned moulded brass bezel hinged to the right with spring latch.

Dial

The 12 inch silvered circular engraved dial with Roman hours and Arabic five-minute divisions, the minutes within circular line borders. Signed in script Sam Hunter below XII with Lond on in bold capitals above VI, all complemented by a pair of finely pierced bluedsteel hands.

Movement

The 8-day movement with tapered rectangular plates united by four knopped and ring-turned pillars pinned to the front plate. The single barrel with gut line fusee has a verge escapement with a short bob pendulum, and knife edge suspension with simple apron and pendulum lock to the side of the backplate. The hour is sounded once on a single bell via a passing strike lever lifted by a pin on the minute wheel.
