Clock Details
Presenting this fantastic British, Air Ministry-issued, 2nd series, Lemania Monopusher Chronograph with ‘Broad Arrow’ designation dating from 1960. The “AM” stands for Air Ministry and it was used for watches requested by and for the Royal Air Force pilots and navigators. The “6B/551” is part of the specific code that identifies the type of equipment, which was a pilot or navigator’s wristwatch used by the RAF during the period of 1959 to 1967. The robust 15CHT (Cal/2220) manual wind, column wheel chronograph movement is renowned for its accuracy but also its serviceability. In our eyes, this watch looks original; the case appears unpolished and has many scratches and dings. The so-called ‘dirty’ dial is signed Lemania below 12 and Incabloc (shock protection) above 6, the ‘Broad Arrow’ insignia confirms official military use.The tritium luminescent plots on the dial and inside the syringe hands have blackened over the decades, as to be expected. The watch is running well, fully guaranteed and supplied with our one year warranty from date of purchase.
