Vintage Vacheron Constantin Ref. 6394, Automatic, 36mm, 18ct Yellow Gold, 1959

A very rare, vintage Vacheron & Constantin Geneve Ref.6394-2 with black satin dial. The watch is fitted with the famous automatic calibre K1071, a Jaeger le Coultre manufacture 493 base, modulated, finished and decorated to an extremely high standard by Vacheron and awarded the Geneva Seal certification as a result. Movement shows hours, minutes and centre seconds. The superior Gyromax balance (timing screws) made in beryllium with swan-neck micrometer regulator, 18,800 vph. Movement no. 545655 dates the watch to c.1959, 29 Jewels, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, note the high-efficiency ruby roller bearings on the Vacheron-signed 18ct gold, bi-directional winding rotor with clou de Paris guilloché detail. Featuring an 18ct gold, hand-engraved, Florentine-textured case made by Wenger (Geneva key hallmark No.1) and numbered 375289 with a solid stepped-lug design reminiscent of the Patek Philippe Ref. 2551.
